Tests/Assesments

eFront includes an extensive mechanism for creating and disseminating assessments. Major characteristics of this system are as follows:

  • Support for 6 different type of questions (multiple-choice (single correct answer), multiple-choice (multiple correct answers), empty-spaces, matching, development, true/false
  • Support for SCORM based assessments
  • Different difficulty levels for each questions, mapping of questions to different units
  • Assessments can be assembled by selecting any number of questions from the question-bank
  • Option to create random assessments or assessments for specific-chapters or questions difficulty
  • A variety of options to control the assessments behavior (Duration, Repetitions, Mastery score, One-by-one or all-together, Shuffle-answers, Shuffle-questions, Display answers on completions)
  • Assessments can be paused
  • eFront keeps a historical record for all completed test instances. The user can see his progress through time.
  • Professors can provide test feedback on the question or the test level
  • Automatic analysis based on user score on different question types
  • Assessments can be used together with Lesson rules to define when and how a user will progress through the lesson

Here is the procedure for creating tests in eFront:

  • From the main control panel of professor we select "Tests"
  • We move to "Questions" tab and create a number of questions. eFront supports the following types of questions: open answer, multiple choices-single correct answer, multiple choices-many correct answers, match, true/false, empty spaces.

  • From "Tests" tab we create a new test and we set its characteristics.In the tab "Mastery score" we must define the score which is the minimum expected,in order for the test to be considered as passed by the student.

When we are done defining the test's characteristics, we have to save it and then continue by selecting the questions.

A new tab appears with the name "Test questions". This is the place where we choose the questions that will be included in the specific test.

At the top of this tab, there are two options, "Randomize questions" and "Random pool test".

The first one, allows you to randomize the questions from the selected ones that will be used in the test, while the second, allows you to create random test, by defining the number of questions that will be used.
